access-control-readersReaders are the means by which you interface with the access control system. We offer a range of readers from the simple PIN number keypad to swipe card or high tech biometric readers.

Swipe readers and cards

Swipe cards are credit-card style devices with a magnetic strip which carries the identifying code. There are two types of readers: Swipe readers and Slot readers. The latter work when the card is posted into a slot.

Proximity readers

Proximity readers require the identifying device to be placed on or near to the reader.
These devices can take the form of key fobs or ‘tokens’, installed parts for vehicles or even implants.
They operate via Radio Frequency Identification.

Proximity plus PIN readers

Proximity readers can offer an extra level of security by incorporating similar ‘chip and pin’ technology to a credit card reader.

Biometric readers

Biometric readers are programmed to recognise the voice patterns, fingerprints, retinae or other personal features of authorised employees. They offer a high level of security in themselves – but can also be combined with card readers and keypads.
