WLS offers a range of control panels and keypads that control system functions - such as setting/un-setting, as well as controlling sounders and signalling, and providing power and battery backup. The control panel is responsible for monitoring the various alarm "input" devices ie motion detectors and door contacts and then activating alarm "output" devices, such as bells, warning lights and diallers. Control panels range from simple units with a single input and output zone, to complex computer driven systems. When specifying a control panel, these are some of the factors we take into account. KeypadsSimple systems require only simple displays, however if, you want a high degree of text programmability choose an LCD version. Number of ZonesThe zone is effectively the number of detection circuits on the system. It is possible to put more than one detection device in each zone but this should generally be avoided to allow clear identification of where the alarm originated. Number of KeypadsKeypads are used in entry or exit points, which are linked to the control panel to activate and deactivate the alarm. Multiple User CodesIt is the number of individual codes that will be required that frequently determines the choice of system. It is also possible to designate varying levels of control, e.g. you can allow your cleaners to set, but not unset, the system. Event LogThis is often required by Insurance companies but also allows you to access useful information – e.g. who set the system and at what time. Remote ProgrammingThis enables the control panel to be programmed and maintained remotely or on site via a PC. | ||||||||||||
