Modern fire alarm systems provide accurate and automatic fire and smoke detection and alert to the build-up of smoke and heat and are mandatory in almost all office and public buildings. They need to:
West London Security is NSI (National Security Inspectorate) gold approved for installing all kinds of fire alarm systems. We’re also an approved dealer of the most advanced Gent 24 fire equipment.
We install fire alarm systems of any size but we are fire alarm specialists in the larger and more complex installations. Recent fire alarm installations include a luxury housing development adjacent to St Paul's Cathedral and a complete replacement fire and security system in the Royal Exchange, also in the City of London. We have also recently been contracted to service the fire alarm systems across all the properties of a major London private hospital group.
As with all our installation options, we offer attractive leasing finance facilities.
We specialise in RF (radio frequency) or wireless fire alarm systems and are full agents for EMS radio fire alarm systems. Wireless fire alarms enable cable-free communication between detectors, sounders and the main control panel. It’s an increasingly popular option as it:
The name VESDA is an abbreviation for Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus. VESDA is a trade mark of Xtralis but rather like the term Hoover, VESDA systems have become a generic name for most air sampling applications. They sample the air in your building using an aspirating ‘sniffer pipe’ which takes an air quality reading using its laser detection chamber. To read more about VESDA fire suppression, check out our blog on VESDA systems.
We install advanced GENT ASD systems, which are much more reliable and accurate than standard detectors and use Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) which can detect fires at a very early stage, often before visible smouldering takes place, before an open fire occurs and before intense smoke develops.
This early detection is vital to mission critical and high-risk applications. The earliest possible fire detection brings significant time benefits, enabling a fast response to the first signs of smoke.
Applications where this feature of high smoke sensitivity is of greatest benefit include computer rooms, telecoms, warehouses, cold rooms, fire suppression environments, ceiling voids and lift shafts.
As well as using expert in-house engineers, our sales staff are all FIA approved to design fire alarm systems to British Standard BS5839 part 1.
They will work with you to recommend the most suitable fire alarm system, incorporating wireless fire alarm and VESDA systems as appropriate, and issue all essential certifications upon completion.
West London Security is experienced at integrating fire alarm systems with your wider security network. Suspect readings can feed back to your central control station, alert CCTV cameras and communicate with access control systems.
West London Security can either provide a complete service or work together with other electrical installation companies. They can fit the cabling before we install detectors, sounders and control equipment then commission, test and certify the system.
Approved fire alarm systems can be linked to our private central monitoring station using the Redcare Secure system. This ensures instant fire brigade response if an alarm is activated. Redcare is a long-established division of BT and works with hundreds of thousands of businesses and private homes across the UK. A Redcare system ensures:
Fire alarm systems must be regularly inspected, and West London Security offers a full servicing and maintenance package using our expert in-house engineers. We already look after systems for many private landlords, colleges and managing agents.
In addition to installing the fire alarm system, West London Security can install emergency lighting systems, which we certify to BS5266-1 as part of our NICEIC electrical installation accreditation. We can also provide and fit all necessary signage and fire extinguishers.
Using us for all your fire safety needs means you can be sure you’ll be fully compliant with all essential health and safety regulations and will only need to deal with one supplier.
